Zango sues Google software for infringing its own malware product
Though the millions of sufferers of the widespread global spyware and malware epidemic are unlikely to sympathise, a company well known for the production of such programs has hit back at attempts to block its products.The Inquirer reports that Zango is claiming that PC Tools, a piece of software contained in Google’s current PC package, identifies its software as a possible threat, elevating its danger rating and removing it without the permission of the user.
Zango is seeking $35 in damages.
In November last year Zango was forced to pay $3 million to the US Federal Trade Commission after it was found that its software was secretly installing itself on PCs and subsequently producing pop up windows in Internet Explorer.
