Dell launches Unbuntu range

Linux-based PCs available from today in UK


Dell has announced that it has, today, launched the first of its Unbuntu-based Dell computers in the UK.

Dell is offering just one laptop, the Inspiron 6400n, and one desktop PC, the Inspiron 530n, with the consumer-friendly version of the open-source operating system pre-installed.

The 530n is available for £329, £30 less than its Windows equvilent while the 6400n will be £399.


"Dell is continuing to deliver on our commitment to give customers what they're asking for - the option of choosing Linux as their operating system," said Charlie Tebbs of Dell EMEA.

"As we hear from customers throughout Europe and around the world, we will continue to explore the opportunities to expand our offerings globally, so stay tuned."
