Vendor says US economic problems will not hinder its expansion plans
Lenovo has said that the current economic situation in the US will not affect its global expansion plans, as it aims to gain market share in the consumer markets.
"The consumer segment will still grow,'' Amelio said while attending the India summit of the World Economic Forum. "It's going to be the first to slow, but it's still going to grow and we still have an opportunity to take share and expand in the U.S.
and other mature markets.''
The Citigroup reported on November 26th that it expected growth in global PC shipments to slow from 13.7 per cent to 11.2 per cent in 2008.

"The consumer segment will still grow,''
He clearly wasn't around in the early 90s the last time consumers ran out of cash. With HP and Dell going after the same market space there will be blood on the floor.
