Windows 7 to arrive in H2 '09

Industry sources claim that the next Windows has been shipped to key partners

Speaking to the TG Daily website, multiple sources have confirmed that an early version of Windows 7 has been shipped to key partners for validation, and will be ready for the second half of 2009.

Windows 7, previously codenamed Blackcomb Vienna, is said to include touchscreen features and was expected in 2010.

TG Daily has also heard that the system is to include MinWin, which is said to be a much smaller kernel of the operating system that only takes up 40MB of memory.

Windows 7 is currently at the M1 stage, with Beta testing still to be determined.
