Chip manufacturer complains of monopolistic practices in Asian territory

Indian news source The Economic Times is claiming that AMD is to approach the Indian Competition Commission concerning allegations that Intel is indulging in monopolistic practices in the territory.

It’s issue concerns a clause in many Central and State government tenders that requests bidders seek machines using Intel technology, limiting AMD’s potential in the market.

India is one of the world’s fastest growing technology markets, so it’s understandable that AMD would want to act should it perceive an unfair trend in the market.
