Retailer readies consumer digital lifestyle publication aimed at its customers
DSGi has announced that it is planning to launch a consumer lifestyle magazine aimed at customers shopping in its PC World stores.
The magazine will focus on 'the digital lifestyle' and will feature several of its products photographed in 'real-life' situations with interview-style editorial.
It will also look to give vendors and partners the chance to promote the products that PC World stocks to its customers.
DSGi is planning on launching the magazine in two separate stages, with the firm initially sending a pilot version to 100,000 families, to be followed by the main launch, which will see over 800,000 copies to be distributed to stores and to be sent to its customers through direct mail.

“Headline News?”

This has all been done before! The last time they were only supposed to be given out free with transactions over a certain value but they had so many left that they were either being used as bag stuffers or binned. The problem is that the people who seem to write the magazines are no more informed than half of the staff working there and it ends up being filled with generalisations and out of date hardware. Surely not worthy of a headline space??

Spend the money on training, it will bring more money in than a customer reading a mag. I bet the guy behind this is getting a back hander from the print company. LOADS O MONEY. But not spent making the company respectable.
