Retailer says shoppers are looking around more for deal, and even hold off purchase till they arise

DSGi spokesperson Mark Webb told The Times' Stephen Adams: "The shopper is certainly being savvier.

More than ever they are looking and waiting for a deal."

He added that DSGi's stores including Currys, PC World and Currys.Digital was having to hold promotions of up to 50 per cent to encourage shoppers to spend.

Good, nice to see them starting to feel some pain after holding vendors to ransom and putting the independents out of business for years, nice to see the tables turning

What is going on at DSGI do the management know how to run a company, for a business model which was once the market leader to see that their customers are disappearing in droves, as another has commented it's nice to see the tide is turning, if the credit crunch has an opportunity to do one thing it is to give some power back to the consumer, coming out with a comment like this just undermines what little integrity they had left! It reminds me of that Ratners comment years ago and look what that did for them!

Good to see the thicko general public are finally cottoning on to the fact that the likes of PC World have been peddling utter rubbish to anyone they could.

This is about ten years too late you see the the firm Dixons have being marketing products impulsively and with the blind belief that customers would buy them at highly inflated prices. They are disorganised and have no firm stratgey for the future just short term fixes which they may hope will work. A takeover is needed to give the firm a good shake up and remove the Dixons management team and replace with new innovative mangement strucuture and systems. I hope they are bought out and customers will not shop at their stores anymore. Thier customer service team are clowns.

As for clownes, remember they have to do as they are told. I am sure there is a lot of good people in the business, but they have to abide by out dated procedures. Remember it was put together to benefit them not the customer. "Put the customer first as long as it cost them and not the company". They forget it should be a privilege that people give them sales.
