Vendor promises to solve QWERTY row over larger-than-normal left shift button

Dell has announced via its Direct2Dell site that it will be replacing the keyboards on several of its European Vostro laptops after customers complained about the unusual QWERTY layout.

The complains stemmed from a larger than normal left shift key that pushed the bottom row of lets across one place, meaning the 'z' key was were the 'x' one is on most normal laptops.

Dell has moved quickly to appease its customers, stating that it contact all affected customers and offer them the choice of either replacing themselves or having a trained field representative do it for them.
