Dangerous exploit in Apple’s IE-rivalling web browser discovered on PC
Leading global software firm Microsoft has warned PC owners to stop using Safari, which is rival Apple’s equivalent of Internet Explorer, following the discovery of a dangerous problem with the programme.
TechRadar reports that last week it was discovered that Safari does not ask the user for permission to download certain filetypes, meaning that it would be possible for hackers to remotely upload hundreds of .exe files onto a browser’s desktop.
Microsoft is now saying that users of the PC version of Safari should limit their use of the browser until either itself or Apple comes up with a fix to exterminate the bug.

How can Microsoft seriously suggest that anyone elses browser poses a security risk! Anyone working in IT knows that Internet Explorer is about as bad as it gets when it comes to security. Even after introducing IE 7 with it's supposed better security features with such gimmicks as "anti-phishing," Microsoft's only browser is still as unsecure as ever and gets hijacked probably more now that it ever did. Basically, Internet Explorer is hacker fodder!
After dealing with a virus infected machine, I always install Mozilla Firefox on my clients machines and set it as the default browser so as to prevent any further hijack attacks. Basically, it seems that Microsoft do not like anyone using any other browser except theirs. Just try getting Microsoft updates using Firefox!
