But two firms fail to agree on a price as Germany partner says it is in no rush to sell

Fujitsu and Siemens are reportedly at loggerheads over the amount of money the German part of the Fujitsu Siemens partnership wants for its half, reports have claimed.

After initial reports suggested that Siemens was likely to sell its stake to an outside party, most likely Lenovo – as reported by PC Retail yesterday – it has emerged that Fujitsu is interested in taking over the whole firm, according to sources speaking to Reuters, but the two firms have failed to reach agreement on the price of Siemens' 50 per cent.

"We would like to continue with the business but only if the price is right," a company source," told the news wire. But Siemens has said that it has had a lot of interest in its stake from outside parties and is in no rush to sell to its partner.

The partnership is up for renewal this year, and if neither party agrees on a price before the end of this year, either between themselves or with an outside party, then it will continue for a further five years.
