Government net report delayed

Report on internet regulations pushed back until end of January

A set of findings from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport into the safety, security, and the proposed regulation of the internet due to be published last week has been pushed back to the end of the month.

The ‘Digital Britain’ interim report is being put together by Communications Minister Lord Carter, which will be followed by a larger report and action plan towards the end of spring, according to the BBC.

Among the expected issues to be addressed are minimum internet download speeds, and illegal file sharing.

The move is in line with EU statements regarding the standardisation of internet speeds across member nations.
